3 Of Our Favourite Cotswold Cafés For A Spot Of Lunch
We are incredibly lucky to have so many amazing cafés where we live; cafés that truly prioritise both the quality and the provenance of the food they serve. Whether you’ve got a trip to the Cotswolds booked, or you’re a Cotswold local, here are three wonderful cafés not to miss!
Quince & Clover, Great Tew
Quince & Clover is a beautiful café in the quintessential village of Great Tew, minutes from Soho Farmhouse. They are known for producing inventive, high-quality brunch & lunch dishes, as well as selling a variety of delicious cakes and pastries. Their coffee is also top-quality, so it’s worth popping in for a quick coffee and a cake if you don’t have time to stay for lunch!
Quince & Clover are well known for their soups and hot pots; they’re super tasty and always come with a delicious garnish on top. Their salads are also incredible; we often take their salads home to enjoy throughout the working week. Quince & Clover don’t offer reservations, so aim to arrive before peak brunch or lunch times, especially if visiting on the weekend.
If, like us, you enjoy a lovely stroll through the countryside, download the AllTrails app, and try the Great Tew and Little Tew Circular. As the name suggests, you’ll stroll through two gorgeous villages and some stunning countryside, ending your walk with a hearty lunch at Quince & Clover.
The Straw Kitchen, Whichford
The Straw Kitchen, the café located at Whichford Pottery is a wonderfully rustic little spot, with chickens roaming the lawn, and beautifully planted handmade pots dotted around the courtyard garden.
The Straw Kitchen offers fresh, nourishing food, with some dishes having an Asian twist, such as Vietnamese spring rolls and noodle soups. The Straw Kitchen pride themselves on their local and seasonal produce, and as such their menu changes weekly. So even if you’re not interested in purchasing Monty-Don-approved pottery, The Straw Kitchen is still well worth a visit!

Broadway Deli is located right in the centre of Broadway high street, and is as much an artisanal food shop as it is a café. The café offers all day breakfasts, as well as soups, toasties and more. If you have a big appetite, I couldn’t recommend their toasted club sandwich any more highly! Smoked chicken, avocado, prosciutto, piccalilli… my mouth is watering just imagining it.
If you’re visiting in the summer months, be sure to nab a seat in the Deli’s stunning back garden; the perfect spot for a chilled afternoon in the sun.
If you have a loved one’s birthday coming up, the Deli is the perfect place to do a bit of shopping. They have so many tasty treats – from olive oils and artisan chocolates, to small batch gins.
