There’s a certain joy in finding places that feel like they’ve been kept just under the radar. The Cotswolds has plenty of them if you know where to look. From cosy, character-filled spaces to relaxed countryside dining, these are the kinds of spots that make a day out feel extra special. Here are three of our favourite hidden gems to add to your list!

Herd at Todenham Farm

Herd is all about laid-back, farm-to-table dining. Set in a rural location on a working farm, it combines rustic charm with seriously good food, celebrating high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. The menu includes one of the best burgers in the Cotswolds, as well as some delicious small plates. Whether you’re visiting for a long, leisurely meal or a casual bite, it’s the kind of place that feels effortlessly cool without trying too hard, making it well worth the trip.

The Yurt At Nicholsons

Tucked away within an unassuming garden centre setting, The Yurt offers a truly unique dining experience that’s both cosy and special. The Yurt is open for limited hours through the week, so be sure to check their website before you go to avoid disappointment. There is a real focus at the Yurt on seasonal ingredients cooked to perfection, and they offer delicacies such as buttermilk pancakes or eggs benedict for brunch; and dishes such as venison with cavolo nero or cider-cured trout for lunch. The Yurt is the perfect place to visit if you’re looking for something a little different.

Farm & Table

Farm & Table is a hidden gem that like Herd, is also located on a working farm. Farm & Table can be found at Wykham Park Farm, which is a rustic but very charming farm with an excellent farm shop. We thoroughly recommend stopping at the farm to sample their incredible dishes that highlight local, seasonal ingredients. We love their full english breakfasts, as well as their delicious rueben sandwich. The setting is just as much a draw as the food, with a calm, countryside atmosphere that makes you want to linger. It’s an ideal spot for a relaxed catch-up or a slower-paced outing where the focus is on good food and great company.
